Skills acquisition/ Entrepreneurship training
The Aspire Youth Skills Acquisition Program is aimed at stimulating practical entrepreneurship among the African youth, by offering complementary activities that will ease the start-up of new ventures.
This program identifies and support aspiring entrepreneurs under the age of 40, who need guidance and practical business skills to establish and run successful enterprises in their locality.
We identify youths – ranging from the age bracket of 21 to 40 years and train/coach them in business skills, connect them with the right business partners so that they can compete in the global market and assist the best of them to access funding for their businesses.
Steps of the Aspire Vocational Training Program
1.Young beneficiaries are identified through community-led groups and shortlisted youths are placed with different volunteer local service provider/experts, to learn various vocational skills at subsidized rates;
2.Upon the successful completion of the vocational training, the successful youths will be provided with step-by-step support, to guide them through the process of identifying business opportunities, undertaking market research, developing budgets, business financing plan, up to launching their own businesses. The approach ensures that training is integrated through every step and ensures that participants gain the vital business skills they require.
3.The Young entrepreneurs are then placed with mentors for sustained business advice and support and are exposed to Low risk capital through grants and loans and they are exposed to access low interest loans through cooperative societies and other innovative methods of raising money for the business.
